June 9th 2007 - Help celebrate the city of Placerville’s Founders’ Day from over 150 years ago, just a few miles from where gold was first discovered in Coloma, California. Historic Main Street in Placerville closes welcome the Highway 50 Wagon Train and will host living history exhibits, fire engine displays, hands-on demonstrations, gold-panning, period games, contests and music, wagon rides, a working saloon, antique farm equipment, traditional western music and more at the Street Faire from 2pm to 6pm, free to the public. Then a Street Dance (also free to the public) with “Planet Groove Cowboys” will close out the day on Main Street from 7pm to 10pm.
